Map Type
Tug of War (ToW) and Team Death Match (TDM)
Setting
Airfield, North Africa
Map Size
Large (fine for up to 20 players)
Interactive Items A number of ladders can be used to climb towers, bunkers, and reach the generator passageways. Several doors can be opened and windows smashed. In ToW mode a number of switches/levers are also activated.
Controllable weaponry includes two tower mounted MG42s, two other mounted MG42s, two portable MG42s, a Flak 20 gun emplacement (on the Axis side) and two mortars (on the Allied side).
Level Design On the surface, the Allied and Axis sides of the airbase are separated by a wide open concrete taxiway. A number of hangers contain aircraft and armoured vehicles including the Luftwaffe's Horten flying wing bomber. There is a concrete bunker on each side with slits on three sides.
Underground there are four passageways with metal decking leading to a central generator conduit. Two entry/exit points run from the Axis side (one from the control tower building and one from the hanger with a Stuka and Tiger). The other two entry/exit points run from the Allied side (one from the motorpool, near the bunker and the other into one of the two metal huts).
Synopsis

Reminiscent of the airfield map from the Allied Assault single player campaign, this level is one of the largest in the game. Because of its size, many gamers opt to play as snipers.
Despite the wide open spaces in the centre of the map the prevailing mist restricts the field of vision so it is possible to slip by and outflank the enemy without being noticed (though it is not uncommon to bump into a member of the opposite team with exactly the same idea!)
The underground passageways are fairly basic but provide a useful alternative to the surface approach.

Allied ToW Objectives

1) Protect Allied transport (initially completed)
2) Open the first hanger doors (initially completed)
3) Turn on the runway lights
4) Open the second hanger doors
5) Detonate Axis motorpool

Axis ToW Objectives
1) Protect Axis motorpool (initially completed)
2) Close second hanger doors (initially completed)
3) Turn off the runway lights (initially completed)
4) Close the first hanger doors
5) Destroy the Allied transport
Tactics

It is useful to position snipers on the roof of the building shown in the first image (above). Use the boxes around the back to jump up. Another good sniping position is on top of the Horten aircraft.
As Axis, take advantage of the underground passageways to outflank the enemy. In ToW the hut exit brings you very close to the Allied truck behind the rock outcrop. Destroying this will prevent the Allies from respawning.
As Allies, try to take control of the Flak 20 and keep it firing on the Axis as this can be devastating. To compound matters for the Axis, it can be difficult to overpower the gunner.
In a ToW game, remember to keep some members of your team back to protect the last objectives. It is also advisable to position some of the team in the underground passageway to resist infiltration by the opposition.

In Short
Equally enjoyable as a TDM and a ToW with plenty of routes to take to try and outflank the enemy.
Rating
Scores 8/10 as a TDM and 8/10 as a ToW
